I'm Lou, and I got into scrapbooking through a friend, as my husband and I fostered 2 brothers back in 2008, the younger one is still with us!  They came with nothing, so I wanted to give them "memories!" I haven't been featured in any magazines/blogs, but with friends run Spoonful of Scraps facebook group.  Also run the crop with Sharon I prefer to take photos of people and my pets, but have started to take more landscape photos recently.  I have 5 cats (including 2 very naughty kittens!) and 2 old black labs. I'm Karen, and ever since I can remember I have always enjoyed photography having a small 110 camera age 10 and receiving my first totally manual SLR camera for my 18th Birthday.  With this camera I did my City & Guild qualifications in black and white darkroom photography. Over the years the cameras have changed, now I have a lightweight digital SLR camera and like us all my mobile phone is always with me for the unplanned snapshots. Introducing our April 2021 guest scrapbooker

I'm Sandra, and I live 16 miles south of Cambridge BUT originally from Yorkshire.  I started scrapbooking in 2004. My husbands mum had died the previous year and he'd brought home the family photos.  At first they just sat in a drawer, then early 2004 I read an article about scrapbooking and preserving heritage photos and decided thats what was needed for the drawer full of photos.  I visited a craft fair where there was a scrapbook stall came away having bent the plastic with everything I needed.  Since then I have scrapped our family photos holidays graduations safari holidays...

March 2021 Scrapbox page layout

Heres the final pages made by Sam Blundell using the Memories and Photos March scrapbox (you can order yours here) and 'The Friday Sketch' Ditch the themes.... Sam's school sports day pages are a good example of not getting caught up in themed papers and embellishments. Keep a good selection of generic printed papers in your craft stash in different colours, and you'll not need to worry about having exactly the right theme for the page, or having papers and stickers left over that you won't use

Page layout idea March 2021

I really love this colourful layout from Guest Scrapbooker Sam Blundell.  She really uses the March scrapbox to the full and brings out the beautiful colours. Many Photos doesn't have to mean a crowded page Blank space is the element of design that enables the objects on the page to ‘sing’. It is the space that balances the design.  We don't need to create a layout overcrowded with text and images to deliver a clear message, but equally we can include many images without confusing the eye too.
