Introducing our November 2021 guest scrapbooker

Posted by Linda Gransby on

I'm Pat, married to David with two children (not flown the nest yet!) and live in Bromley, Kent. I started scrapbooking about 2003/4 when my children were a lot younger and instantly fell in love with it - cutting up paper and sticking on to cardstock along with photos and journaling sounds a strange hobby to non-believers but trust me I've since converted a few!

It adds real memories to your photos and not just just a scribbled date on the back plus satisfies the creative side of crafting and socialising with friends. I have a small group of ladies that scrapbook with me in my home and we have become good friends - crafting away with a cuppa and chat. It always amazes me how we can all have the same kit and produce such different pages.

I have featured a couple of times in scrapbook magazines but sadly those magazines are no longer published which is a real shame, I guess online blogs/pinterest/forums have taken over which isnt a bad thing as you have instant access at your fingertips although I do find we can spend to much time looking at a screen.

Photography is another passion of mine and I belong to a couple of camera clubs plus do presentations/judging to other clubs in my area. With the pandemic I've been all over the UK as clubs have enjoyed the benefits of zoom from the comfort of our homes.

I take all genre, street (access to London is so easy for me living so close) landscapes, nature, still life and flowers etc and enjoy using software to enhance my images. It was scrapbooking that got me into photography as I wanted to take better photos and bought my first digital SLR in 2006. Shame my children are older now. I wish I'd known more about taking better pictures when they were younger. I'll have to wait for grandchildren!

Heres my blog if you'd like to take a look.....
