I was thinking this week about an artist I met while I was travelling in Thailand, who taught me a very important lesson about enjoying being in the moment of what we are creating. Nang is an artist in residence at the Hua Hin Artist village, a wonderfully eclectic mix of different creative souls, all encouraging each other and making wonderful art. I've been thinking about how I spend my time, I've been so busy recently.... Its difficult sometimes to get around to freeing up time for crafting, but its really important for many reasons: To look forward to something you enjoy doing To relax and have some 'mind space' To get away from day to day mundane activities Spend time with like minded people (if you scrap with others) To give yourself the luxury of reminiscing over photos and memories   Notice I haven't listed.... a question.... why do you make albums?

I inherited a beautiful Victorian album from my grandparents... Its not leather bound and it hasn't got parchment pages, beautiful hand painted designs, or a real gold clasp. Between its pages are the photos of my family looking out at me. Men and women posing stiffly for photos (you had to keep still for ages back in the day) families in their Sunday best, self concious young men in uniform and girls sitting with their hand on a bible... .... its precious to me more than money, but it also makes me sad...   ... because I have no idea who...

Making the most of your time
