....who enjoys your pages....

I was thinking this week about an artist I met while I was travelling in Thailand, who taught me a very important lesson about enjoying being in the moment of what we are creating.

Nang is an artist in residence at the Hua Hin Artist village, a wonderfully eclectic mix of different creative souls, all encouraging each other and making wonderful art.

Over the course of a month or so, we had many conversations about art and craft, and she eventually invited me to add some drawing to a piece she was working on....

I hesitated as I was feeling that sense of responsibility that I feel when starting a new scrapbook page, or using beautiful papers....  that I must make it a beautiful work of art, that it must be perfect.....

She said, what are you waiting for, so I explained.... she said to me 'enjoy the moment of what you are doing, make art for you, no one else, enjoy the process, nothing has to be perfect'

I've tried to follow this ever since, using my craft to enjoy rather than feeling the pressure of expectation to make something amazing....

I hope this story might inspire you to do the same....
