October 2023 Wk4 Scrapbook page layout

Sarah has excelled herself with the labeling and journalling on this layout.  Where’s the journalling I hear you ask?  It’s hidden behind the subtitle of each photograph!  Take a look below.

Scrapbooking is not just about preserving memories; it's also an opportunity to express yourself creatively. journaling allows you to share your thoughts, feelings, and stories in a discreet yet artistic way.  Here’s a few ideas you could try

Behind the Photo - Sarah has used this technique on her layout.  Hide your journaling behind a photo using a pull out flap. Alternatively, attach the photo to the page using a small amount of adhesive, leaving one side free. Underneath the photo, write your journal entry, memory, or anecdote. Viewers can gently lift the photo to reveal the hidden message.

Pull-Out Tabs - This is also part of Sarah’s hidden journalling.  Add interactive elements to your scrapbook by using pull-out tabs for your hidden journaling. Create a tabbed strip with your journal entries and attach it to your page. Readers can pull out the tab to reveal the full story or message. This approach is both playful and engaging.

Flap It Up - One of the simplest ways to incorporate hidden journaling is by adding a flap or pocket to your page. Decorate the flap or pocket with embellishments and a title that hints at the content inside. This not only adds a visual element to your layout but also piques the curiosity of viewers. You can tuck away handwritten notes, printed journal entries, or even mini photos to tell your story.

Envelopes and Pockets - Envelopes and pockets are excellent options for concealing journaling. Decorate them to match your overall theme and secure them to your scrapbook page. You can add tags or mini cards inside these envelopes, where you write your thoughts or stories. Consider using different-sized envelopes and pockets to add variety to your layouts.  You could make your own envelopes using coordinating papers

Interactive Flips and Folds - Create scrapbook pages with interactive elements like flips and folds. Craft hidden compartments or fold-able sections that reveal your journaling when opened. These dynamic layouts not only showcase your creativity but also make the storytelling experience more exciting.

Hidden journaling adds depth, intrigue, and a personal touch to your layouts, inviting viewers to engage with your memories on a deeper level. Your pages will become more than just collections of photos; they'll be storytelling masterpieces waiting to be unveiled.
