You don't need any special tools to do this, just some patience. Practice tearing evenly down the paper using some scrap paper first. Use both hands to carefully tear a few inches at a time.
Lindas tip: You may get a different coloured torn edge, depending on whether you tear from the front or back of the paper. This is due to the printing process when the paper is created.
