You are reading the blog of the 1971 winner of the Watford Borough Junior fishing competition!  Yes, I know, its hard to believe eh?  :-) I can also wiggle my nose like a rabbit (so can my sister, it must be a genes thing...)  As well as running craft workshops, I am a qualified teacher in ICT and Swimming! I've been taking a long awaited and twice postponed holiday in Ireland this week.   It's so lovely to get back to some kind or normality.One thing that has been wonderful over lockdown, is that I've had pages to do from previous trips and events.  It really does make you appreciate the freedom we normally have, and look forward to meeting friends and family in person rather than on zoom! Thinking about our scrapbook albums, this is one of the reasons we make them... Ok, we love the crafting, but how much time do we spend reminiscing over past family...

I was thinking this week about an artist I met while I was travelling in Thailand, who taught me a very important lesson about enjoying being in the moment of what we are creating. Nang is an artist in residence at the Hua Hin Artist village, a wonderfully eclectic mix of different creative souls, all encouraging each other and making wonderful art. Over the course of a month or so, we had many conversations about art and craft, and she eventually invited me to add some drawing to a piece she was working on....  I hesitated as I was feeling...

I've been thinking about how I spend my time, I've been so busy recently.... Its difficult sometimes to get around to freeing up time for crafting, but its really important for many reasons: To look forward to something you enjoy doing To relax and have some 'mind space' To get away from day to day mundane activities Spend time with like minded people (if you scrap with others) To give yourself the luxury of reminiscing over photos and memories   Notice I havent listed.... What have you achieved in your crafting life that you are particularly proud of?

Hmmm….  Well I was UK winner of the Creating Keepsakes Magazine Hall of Fame…. Many years ago!  Back in the day when we waited expectantly fro the deliveries all the was from the USA, there was nothing in the UK! More recently, I think I’m really proud of the fact the I’m running my own business, doing something that I love, earning money, paying the bills and setting an example for my children on how to balance work and leisure to enjoy life to the full.
